Empire of Dirt

So, this is my oldest book-length work. It’s a memoir I wrote up from the journal I kept during my first tour in Afghanistan. The original working title was “How the Army Tried to Kill Me.”

I sent it to an agent I know and he very kindly told me he liked it, but that it needed work to appeal to an audience that didn’t know me personally. I started implementing those changes, draft 2, and then sidetracked myself to work on Music Man, now Machine Mind.

In a disturbing note, I can’t find my pictures from Afghanistan right now. I’m still looking but they may have died with my work machine. Which would just be stupid.

Edit: Found them. Whew. Backing up now. In multiple places.
